Everyone that is an avid reader of my AYN2K articles (looking at you mom) knows that I do not have a good relationship with 2k Sports of Take Two Interactive. However, not only are they intruding on my love for NBA games, they’re about to take the next step and take over an already established franchise. Formula 1 video games have been growing in popularity over the last few years and have really adjusted their focus to be a Sim like Formula game that everyone can immerse in and enjoy.

There’s nothing like plugging in your wheel and pedals, taking a 5 lap race around Spa, and being a driver even greater than Lewis Hamilton. A lot of top F1 2020 Content Creators and ESport drivers are weary that 2k is taking over the development of the series, and think there’s really only one way this can go down.

I have to agree with them on the fact that NBA2k games have only gotten worse since the early 2010’s and they love hiding behind paywalls. Are we gonna see DLC packages for custom liveries? Are we gonna have to buy different tracks that are added to the game because 2k loves lining their pockets? Only time can tell, I suppose.

2021 has gotten off to a great start for gaming and ESports. Although controversies have struck the streaming world due to malicious acts by streamers and content creators, the games themselves have been well developed and plentiful. One game in particular might already have Indie Game of the Year locked up. Click the read more button below to find out more about it!

Valheim is a PVE (Players vs. Environment), Open World Survival, Norse Mythology, Viking game that has taken the world by storm as of late. The MMO-esque (massively multiplayer online) progression system of leveling up skills and getting better loot has made this title extremely popular. With over 35,000 players on during peak hours, it’s safe to say that this game is here to stay for the entirety of 2021 and beyond.

The developers of Valheim have an insane amount of potential when it comes to releasing new content into their game. The game is open ended and begs for new things to be added once the player base conquers the current enemies plaguing the “Tenth World."

If you’re in the market for a CO-OP PVE Survival game, it’s a no brainer that Valheim should be number one on your list. Don’t worry PVP’ers (Player vs. Player), they plan on adding PVP aspects to the game as well. This game is only $20 on steam, and it’s worth every single penny.

Everyone is coming off the worst year in recent memory. Covid-19 has halted the world in its tracks for almost a full year now. Everything in 2020 was either canceled or postponed due to CDC protocols. Sports were almost non existent last year due to health guidelines. However, one sport grew in number and stayed well and alive while its participants were still in the safety of their homes: ESports. Though there was a lot of bad to come out of 2020, there is a new game that might be the next big thing.

Giant Enemy Crab Games, an indie game developer, has released a game called Due Process. Extremely fitting name due to the problems plaguing this world currently, eh? This game is a simple 5v5 Attacker vs Defender bomb defusal retake game. It’s basically a more arcade-esque Rainbow 6 Siege.

The brilliant team-play mechanics make it a formidable tactical shooter amongst the top tier esport titles. The game has a small fan base now, but with the proper updates and progression, this game could be the biggest esport title of 2021.

It's almost November! You know what that means? It's time for Call of Duty. The most prestigious and reputable arcade shooter franchise is coming back with their newest installment, Cold War. Fans are hyped to finally have zombies back after going 2 years without it. However, tragedy has struck the multiplayer fanbase when Treyarch confirmed that SBMM will be in effect in online matchmaking.

For anyone who isn't aware, SBMM is essentially a grouping system that puts players of similar skill level in matches with each other. This means that human bots that have "no thumbs" can't get put up against Major League Gamers that snort G Fuel at 3 AM to hit a quickscope. This has left most of the community enraged because players don't want to have to try their hardest in every single lobby to just be able to perform decently.

Although this does help out the casual players who can only play a match a day or a couple of hours on the weekend, this leaves the above average players in a spot where they feel like they're competing in a Game 7 of the NBA finals every single lobby. This drains the fun out of casually playing Call of Duty and leaves a bad taste in avid players' hearts. Many people believe there should just be a ranked playlist for everyone who wants to try hard and leave normal public matches without SBMM enabled. Either way, i'm sure Call of Duty is going to soar over the rankings with Warzone going for a second stint and zombies coming back. So if I were you, I would get ready to drop some money on Activision Blizzard stock, because it's gonna skyrocket.

If you’re in the know about the gaming community, then you know that NBA 2K is one of the most controversial franchises ever. You would think a standard basketball game that keeps evolving every year would have a good reception with fans, correct? Unfortunately, the answer is no.

NBA 2K is a staple in AAA Titles that releases every single year along with the rest of its 2K and EA Sports counter-parts. Already, this comes with a lot of haste as a high percentage of the fan base believes the games are so called “re-skins” of the prior installments with only 1 or 2 changes and updated rosters. These allegations are mostly correct. However, sports games do tend to break the mold sometimes and truly upgrade with the new titles. With the upcoming release of NBA 2K21 only a few weeks away, we still have no clue what to think of the game because we have no information.

NBA 2K and Take Two are usually marketing geniuses when it comes to spreading information and building hype for the new NBA 2K. Ronnie 2K is the community manager for NBA 2K and he excels at bringing the latest and greatest features of the newest NBA 2K installment to all the popular 2K content creators. However, the NBA 2K21 Prelude dropped on August 24th, and players are finally figuring out things about the game on their own after being left in the dark about what the game entailed. The entire 2K team was SILENT regarding news about 2K21. Were they trying to hide something? Are they disappointed about this year’s installment? Is it just another “re-skin” year and NBA 2K is trying to rob pockets? Watch some gameplay from the big content creators and decide that for yourself.

If you’re a fan of League of Legends or ESports in general, you know that the eastern hemisphere is home to the best teams and players when it comes to League of Legends. The likes of SK Telecom, Taipei Assassins, and other well known ESports Organizations have run rampant since season 1 worlds of League of Legends. However, is the west, or more specifically, Cloud 9.gg, looking to bring the worlds title to North America for the first time ever?

Every year, the best teams from all around the world compete at the League of Legends Worlds Event. A North American team has never even made it past the Quarterfinals of bracket play. However, Cloud 9, a team out of Los Angeles, is looking to WIN the entire event this year as they look like the most well rounded team on the planet. The team consists of,

“Licorice” in the Top Lane
“Blaber” in the Jungle
“Nisqy” in the Mid Lane
“Zven” running ADC (Attack Damage Carry)
and “Vulcan” supporting Zven

This team ended up going 26-2 in the Spring Split earlier this year and taking the NALCS (North American League Championship Series) trophy in a 3-0 Sweep over FlyQuest. Now, since the Summer Split is the split that gets recognized when it comes to qualifying for worlds, Cloud 9 has upped the intensity and started off blazing hot with an 8-0 record, knocking off Dignitas last Sunday in a convincing 16k gold lead victory. A North American team has not shown this much promise when it comes to worlds success since the undefeated Immortals team went undefeated in pool play at worlds, just to get knocked out in the first round by an unknown Royal Never Give Up Gaming.

With all of this being said, the team is extremely young and extremely inexperienced at an international level. However, if they’re as good across the pond as they are against domestic competition, we could see the first ever North American Worlds Trophy in the 10 years League of Legends has existed.
